I've played blues guitar for going on 12 years now. SRV is one of my favorites. I don't know how far back your music tastes go, but I'd highly recommend some of the older delta blues artists. Check out Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, Son House, and Muddy Waters to name a few.

I got a few of thier songs on some mixed CD's. Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Buddy Guy are some of my favorites though.
