Growing too fast.
I was digging out one of these boxes to ship out (pending) and thought what the hey, might as well open another and see how they’re coming. The wrapper is a nice, golden brown with what looks like noticeable tooth with slight oils and a couple few patchwork veins. The cigar has a good weight in the hand, a slight give when squeezed, and with the cap punched I find a perfect draw with taste of straightforward sweet tobacco.
I put fire to the foot and take a couple of puffs to get the fire going good, then a long draw getting a nice white pepper spice on the back of the throat from the good medium bodied smoke. Delicious, rich flavor of pecan/almond come through with sweet cocoa and a nice, black licorice. I detect notes of black coffee and a good woodiness as well.
The burn is sharp with a medium to dark gray ash forming that holds strong. Flavors continue to be very rich and complex the further in I go with an excellent, lasting finish that lingers on the palate just right. Thoroughly enjoying the fantastic Bolivar profile, just spot on all the way around.
Going into the last half, the burn continues to be sharp with a strong ash and a perfect draw allowing the perfect amount of medium to full bodied smoke through. White pepper spice continues to hit the back of the throat and flavors seem to be toning down slightly, possibly not as rich as in the first half, but still very good. The wife is calling me to come in for dinner, however I have to get as much of this as I can.
Although these are smoking fine now, I’m definitely looking forward to revisiting after a much longer rest. I have a feeling these are going to be fantastic smokes in a few years. Thoroughly enjoyable cigar! Well of course, it’s a Boli!!
