I have an idea I would like to put to my fellow S/BOTLs, providing there are enough Bookworms on this site. Please do excuse the location of this post, but I am unsure of where to put it.

I was thinking of starting a trade thread for Books. I have a passion for collecting three things: Cigars (of course), Classic Literature (in old-style hardcovers when possible) and traditionally made Perfumes (so much better than synthetics). I wanted to combine the first two hobbies in the form of open trades.

Think along the lines of this example: You want the 1969 Hardcover Edition of Homer's Illiad. You post your request in this thread and if someone has it, or has access to it, a trade can commence via PMs. Trade in Cigars or a straight book swap... whatever both parties are comfortable with.

I for one want to see a Montecristo Cigar and Dumas Novel of the same name offered up as a package. That would be excellent.

Anyway, if this interests anyone, just put the name of the book you are seeking, or the books you have that might interest and we can see how this plays out.

I'll put some of my collection in to start things off. I would suggest that pictures be provided on request to save Rod's bandwidth.

First off:
How to Argue Successfully: An exposition of the principles and methods of argument
William Mapherson, M.A.
Third Impression
1928

111 pages. Hardcover. Good condition.

This is an interesting look at the methods of persuasion circa 1928. Well written and rather detailed.

For the History Buffs:
Toward International Understanding
Yasaka Takagi
1954

180 pages. Hardcover with Sleeve. Good condition, sleeve slightly worn.

Very insightful book that tells Japan's WWII motivations from a non-westernized point of view. If you are into modern history, this is an interesting addition to the story as a whole.

Nice site.

I would like to see if we could trade on this site as well, with trusted CP members and cigars brought into the trade process. I thought that might be cool.
