Hey everyone! As I'm pretty new to cigars, I have come to rely on your opinions at times with my cigar purchases. Certainly everyone has their own individual taste, but you can't argue with a group of seasoned cigar smokers when they collectively say one stick is better than another.

So lets say you have $100 to spend on a box. What is your choice to be?

Well, being that you're "new to cigars" like you say, you'd probably be better off getting a nice assortment, rather than a box of one kind, so you can see what you like.

And, if you haven't yet, a great place to start would be the Newbie Trade down in the Buy/ sell/ Trade forum.

Why don't you list a few cigars you like so that others have some idea what to recommend. As I love Padron, I would buy a box of Padron 2000. AF also has boxes in that price range with some very good cigars.

I will second that, but if you are looking for boxes Camacho corojo monarca, La Aroma de Cuba cetro, Fuente cheateau sungrown, and Padron 2000 maduro. those would be my box suggestions.

Padron 2000 maddies, ERDM Robusto Largas, or a box of Short Stories..

Pepin Garcia Vegas Cubanas Coronas, or Padron 2k's, cant go wrong with a newbie sampler those guys WILL take care of you.

Nate

I don't disagree with what others have said... you may be better doing a Newbie Sampler Trade for the $100.

On the other hand... if I had a Benjamin burning a hole in my pocket I would probably buy a box of Joya de Nicaragua Antano Lanceros and still have a little left over for a few burgers and cokes to fight the nicotine kick.

The NST folks will treat you good. :whistling:

Your taste might not be the same as everyone else.

You might buy a box and find out they're not for you, now you're stuck with a box you need to sell off or trade.

The sampler will allow you to try a variety of smokes.

Two ACID sampler tins! Oh wait, you said money to SPEND and not money to WASTE. I would probably go with the Newbie Sampler trade as mentioned above. They really hook you up and allow you to try a bunch of different sticks in your flavor profile that will help you narrow down some favorites for future box purchases.

I agree with the NST advice... Can't go wrong there.

But to answer you questions, what _I_ would buy w/ $100 would be:

Tatuaje Havana VI Angeles (a hair over, but it could probably be done.)
DPG Black Perlas
Padron 2000K Maddies
La Gloria Cubana Wavells

Padrón 2000 Maddies or Naturals

5 VEGAS 'A' Alpha (torpedo) or Artisan (robusto)

Oliva Serie 'O'

Rocky Patel Sungrown Petite Corona

Trilogy Native Cameroon

Oh I forgot about those! Great cigars for the money!

As many have suggested, the Newbie Sampler is a great way to try new sticks. That would be my first choice, but after that, Padron 2k and the Carlos Torano Exodus are great choices.
