So I had to break down and start a Coolerdor. The first box I got in is a Padron 1926 Maddie #35 and it's got a plastic wrap around it! So the question is whether it's better to remove the wrap for storage or leave the wrap on? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :D

I'm not 100% sure but I would imagine you want the cigars to breath... with the plastic wrap they probably can't.

Oh no...you can't put a whole box of #35's in a new coolerdor. You'd better send them immediately to me so I can smoke, er, store them properly.... :p

My vote would be plastic off so the little beauties can breathe properly.

Cello on / off has been debated a million times, so if that question comes up, search is your buddy there...

Best Regards - B.B.S.

Most DEFINITELY cello off the box. The more you can have active RH entering into their home, the better off your smokes will be. Of course, the actualy % of RH is up to you and your druthers, but you best let em breathe!!

if its cele then it doesnt matter, but just to be sure you can take it off. I mean, dont you at least want to check them out before storing them away? I know I would have to.

Active RH? Where can I get some of this active RH? How does it differ from inactive RH?

Hardy har har... very funny!!! :) Yeah, stupid of me, I should have expressed myself better. Active (versus passive) humidification. In other words Cigar Oasis versus the usual suspects. I'm sure its all a matter of taste, but kicking up the distribution and circulation of the humidity is what I was after.

D'OH! :whistling:

agree with looking at the cigars when first bought, but in min ron nee's book he suggests not touching the plastic , for long term storage.

I would say that it does not matter.

I agree with this statement because when we have extra boxes at the tinderbox, I write the sku number on the plastic and put it up for storage...

Now since they are going into YOUR cooler, I would check just to make sure the smokes are ok. All companies make mistakes and so anything could happen when shipping.
