I disagree. I think it's just as tacky as anything any celebrity does. The fact that these people are rich and famous does not make "kicking them when they're down" fair game to me.

She's made mistakes. She likely wasn't ready to deal with her fortune. She obviously has problems galore. There's nothing fun about beating up on her to me, public figure or not.

I agree with your premise Alan, but disagree in the application. I would be surprised if Spears was down at all. I feel no sympathy for her at all. She can go to rehab for her behavior, but stupid is permanent.

It seems the interest in this thread may have been underestimated.
