Since the bulk carbon filter for my Honeywell envirocare filter cost $110+ and it neads replaced every 6 months I have been looking for sources for bulk carbon.
Pop the lid and one could just empty the old and fill it with new. I searched the industrial sites and aquarium sites for bulk carbon but only found the qt. containers available through the aquarium sites.
Theres got to be asource out there somewhere because Honeywell doesn't just manufacture it themselves. Maybe industrial aquarium filtrations sites?
Anyone want to try there luck?
My air filtration system is the largest Honeywell makes and set me back $350 on sale. A three stage precarbon pad/hepa/carbon filter system would be the ticket. According to Consumer Reports the hepa filter systems out perform the ionizers like the cloakers.
Ya can't get out of the hepa but if the carbon filter were cheaper then there are tons of thes systems in closets just waiting for us to buy on the cheap!
