Hoard em if you got em. Starting Wednesday, the federal government is hiking the excise duty essentially, an additional federal tax on tobacco products by nearly 24%. according to the Toronto Sun

The tax across Canada ranges from from $18.50 to $22.89 per 1,000 cigars in inventory for Canadian retailers. This most likely will lead to a general price increase across the country and the very first sentence of the article instructs Canadians to buy more cigars now before the tax is implemented.

Canada.Com is predicting an increase in contraband sales as the tax might make some products too expensive for many individuals.

Even so-called duty free tobacco wont be spared from the tax hike and will now face the same federal excise taxes as smokes and manufactured tobacco for sale in the domestic market.

Bah more taxes.... What is new?

In my province sometimes I think we just invented taxes... Lol
