With that said, I don't think Atuck will understand what comes next. Regardlees, the t-shirt was humor, not gay bashing. So spin it like that if you must. Had it been gay bashing, it would heave been followed up with words to that matter. A little crass, yes, but not bashing. Just becuase 1 person pipes up that they dont like it doesnt make it what they say it is.

Ya I do understand. You obviously misunderstood the meaning of my post though. It is humor as well. Besides, if you notice, the first 2 responses to that t-shirt were in disapproval. It was then removed before others could view it so you really don't know what others opinions might have been. Now me, I was just pointing out the humor in the topics that she chooses to post being that this is a cigar forum and she never really talked about cigars and all her posts were of a humorous nature in the lobby only. I'll leave it at that.

I could've done without the poll, myself. Apparently quite a few of you enjoyed it, and that's fine, but for me, it strayed beyond what is acceptable for a close-knit community like we have here. There are plenty of other forums where that type of thing is acceptable, even encouraged. I hope Cigarpass does not turn into one of them.

I’m going to risk it here and wade in…..consider;

Suppose Ms. B.B.S. had found, say, a wine forum run mainly by other ladies with her same interests. Let’s say she gets involved, and really enjoys herself. Gets “promoted” to a forum admin. The ladies trade wine, share knowledge, point out good buys, storage techniques and suggestions, the enjoyment of the fermented grape, etc. And, let’s say that this forum is very good about “self policing” itself and for the most part, stays on course. Sure, some of the ladies have pics of quasi clothed men in their posts / signatures, but the topics are for the most part always about wine and the “art” is little more than eye candy. Sounds like a great place to hang out.

So, now let’s say I decide to join in. Now, pretend I don’t drink much if any wine, but I join in anyway. No harm, right? But – let's say my posts are by and large off topic, or at least, have little to do with wine. I show up and make post after post, racking up more posts in three weeks than most make in three months. Not really contributing the subject at hand, but checking in all the time anyway. One of the ladies even starts a thread titled “Has B.B.S. ever had a glass of wine”, in an attempt to draw me into the fold, as it were. An offer to open "on topic" discussion. Then, one day when Ms. B.B.S. is out of town on business and I ask “…say, ladies, how do you like your man’s wanger? Big, short, fat, skinny, etc?...” Hell, make it a poll, not just a post. Well, of course it would be taken as rude, crass, tasteless, and completely off topic by most. In the computer forums I moderate, that would equal an instant permaban. And, at least in my household, I’d expect the Ms. to be on the first plane home to have a “chat” with me about my decision making ability and I’d have a ton of explaining to do.

Now, here’s the sad part; what a complete waste. I and my wife know I’m not a bad guy, but you sure couldn’t tell that from my posting style. Also, with this group, given the Ms. is a fantastic member, I had instant props going in. I could have contributed a ton, told the ladies what I like in wine, how and when I like to drink it, what foods I like with what wines, etc. Heck, maybe even shared a joke or two down the road as I got to know folks and they got to know me better. I could have been a valuable contributor, even had a little fun, but I turned out to be at best an annoying distraction, and worst case, an embarassment to my wife. No one wins in that situation, and in the long run that’s not good for anyone.

I’m not looking to “drop a house” on anyone; offered as constructive metaphor, FWIW.

THis is the lobby, which is supposed to be off cigar topic. She doesnt go into cigar threads and just trhow out stuff, so the analogy is a little off. Yeah she is outspoken, hell that one of the reasons I like her.

Just like everyone else, you have the right to read what you want and what you dont. You have the right to make a $hitty post like this. You also have the right to make a considerate PM before outting some one like this also.

It's too bad the Ms would have to talk to you. I dont have to say anything to my woman. She is your own person. So if you are going to be insinuating what I should be doing and I shouldnt be, you're out of line. For some one who hasnt even met me, you sure are prettyy confident in what I should be doing. Atuck you are right about humor. She stepped out of the boards norms, something was said, and now she understands and complies. Like some one else said, dont fuel the fire.
It is the lobby though. Everything else is off cigar topic here. So either it is wrong for everyone else, or it is ok for her. It cant be sometimes right sometimes wrong. It's all or nothing.
