Hey every1,
I recieved a CAO Palms SSP a while ago in a bomb, and im curious how rare/desirable this stick is. Chime in if you know anythign about it!

If I am not mistaken, this is a "Casa Fuente" type cigar of course without the quality. It is an exclusive to a shop within the Palms Casino in Vegas, so in that respect it is a rarity. As far as it's desireabilty that I am unsure, still a cool gift though IMHO.

The cigar came out a couple years back as part of a superbowl promotion. ver rare sticks. I seem to remember they were actually those dang CAO that came in the black coffins (name escapes me) with a different band on them...those are not as rare.

This cigar was made by CAO INTERNATIONAL for PALMS CASINO RESORT, Las Vegas for the event of Super Bowl in February 2004. It is from a limited reserve that CAO made ONLY for that party, never been on any retail store. Although many found its way to cbid. The Cigar comes in a small coffin like box.
From what I have seen MSRP is close to $15.00. I believe there were only 2000 made.

Wow. A lot rarer than i thought! Thanks for the information guys.

With that little black coffin too please, if you have it. I'm really drawn to unique packaging. And it sounds like this is one we won't be seeing very often...

Ive still got the coffin but its not black. Its wood colored with the CAO Palms SSP and the date embossed into it. I'll post it all up!

I won five off of C-bid a while back and smoked four of them. They aren't bad but they are rather mild. I don't know if I would call them a collectors item unless you are a big fan of CAO.

I've got one, too. Just took the coffin out my humi and left the cigar in there alone. Might smoke it soon...

My understanding is they are the Odyssey, with a different band and box (the Odyssey was the special edition CAO in the black coffin). I don't think CAO has ever officially acknowedged that, but their release was timely with the existence of the Odyssey.

I've had both - they both tasted comparable (very mild, and pretty much tasteless). A shade better than a Macanudo, but not by much. They really aren't a bad smoke - just extremely mild. If you're into flavorful smoke - this would not be the cigar for you. If you want a good morning smoke that won't make you hurl - this would be it...

Cbid was blowing through them a while back. Most were sold in the $5-15 range (depending on how badly someone wanted one). $5-10 is a pretty fair price for them...

They do look to be the same size and shape. Buttttt here is the disclaimer, the Odessy was a limited release cigar. the size and shape look spot on. So, unless someone has first hand knowledge of CAO's practices, I would say that it "could" be the same blend, but I seriously doubt it is the same tobacco batch.

My few experiences with the Odessy have not been as mild and flavorless as those smoke by ggeise. Yes, they were milder than medium, but I found them to be fairly complex for a milder cigar. YMMV
