Card Trick

Here is a card trick I learned as a kid (going back to the 60's). It's something anyone can do.

Take a standard deck of cards. Place 3 cards face up left to right. Place a card on top of the first (the left) and do so with the other 2 columns. Repeat in that order till there are 3 columns of 7 cards each (all face up and spread out top to bottom) Get rid of the rest of the deck. Have someone mentally choose a card and ask them what column it is in. Here is the trick. Take each col and make sure they stay in order. Put the column that the card in in between the other 2 columns. Repeat a 2 more times, a total of 3 deals asking what column and keeping that column in the middle. After 3 times, the card is ALWAYS the 11th card in the deck. You can put them to your head and mentally guess the card etc.... should someone think you are just remembering what card are in what col, have someone do the trick while your out of the room, and have them, through esp, send you the answer. You come back into the room, do the cards to the head, whatever phony stuff you want but it will always be the 11th card...

For some reason, that is the exact trick I was thinking about when I read your title. Except mine involves more than 3 columns.

heres another super easy old trick that always impresses. take the deck and make 4 stacks, hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades. put each stack in order from 2-ace. put each stack on top of one another. if its a new deck it will already be this way. have whomever cut the cards as many times as they want. once or 50 times, it doesnt matter. then lay out 13 cards across the table, then 13 more on top of those in the same order, and so on until you have 13 stacks of 4 cards each.

as you turn each stack over, not only will the stacks all be of all the same card (ex. 4,4,4,4) but each stack will be in order.
