A buddy of mine is in the sales business and he often gives cigars to his clients even though he doesn't know too much about them (cigars, not his clients...)

As luck would have it, he's going to be in Vegas soon and is interested in picking up some cigars at Casa Fuente for his better clients. I'm not exactly sure what his budget is or whether he's looking to go with boxes or singles, but given that admittedly limited information, what would you folks suggest that he consider purchasing? I've never been there so I've only got a loose idea what they carry (I assume just about everything from the Fuente stable?), but I haven't smoked enough Opii or Anejos to be very confident in any recommendations.

Any broad suggestions?

Thanks!!!

The only cigars worth getting in Casa are the Casa Fuentes and the odd-shaped or rare Opus. Everything else can be bought in B&Ms at regular price (for the most part). Tell him to get the Casa Fuente line, since he can't get those anywhere else. He can go with the odd Opus', but they will cost him a lot.

I concur. The Casa Fuentes are good cigars, not priced TOO high ($15-$25 IIRC) and exclusive to CF. The Opus they sell there are 2x retail, and the Forbidden X start at $60 and go up ($125 for Forbidden X BBMF).

I take it you are in Miami. Arent there some good stores down there to buy Opus, Padron Anniv, etc? If Im not mistaken, isnt the tobacco tax low or non existent too? Like others have said, go for the Casa Fuente Cigars or maybe even the Don Carlos Lanceros as gifts.

I was there last month and they didn't have Don Carlos Lanceros, Hemigway Maduros, or any other HTF sticks like that. They did have Opus, Anejos, CF13, and Casa Fuentes as well as most other Fuente/Ashton cigars. I suggest the Casa Fuentes as well. The sampler is a good deal and if he has the cash he can get a number of those.

Well, I am in Miami and I do have some good stores around here (although I haven't found any that seem to have Opus for more than a week or two at a stretch), but my buddy lives in southern Georgia and is curious about what HTF stuff he ought to go after when he'll have the opportunity to stop by Casa Fuente soon.

I think the samplers are probably perfect for his purposes.

If he doesn't smoke and these are gifts to clients, he doesn't need the sampler. Tell him to grab a handful of the CF Corona Gordas. It'll save him some money and that way he doesn't have to decide who gets the corona gorda, who gets the robusto, and who gets the double corona. IIRC, the sampler is around $150, which includes 7 cigars. 7 of the Corona Gordas is $126.

The only cigar that I thought was a reasonable price, were the DC Lanceros.
