I was speaking with an individual over the weekend who was pretty firm in the belief that Casa Fuente was coming to Chicago and NYC. He gave no time frame except for some point in the future, but he did make it sound sooner than later. He said that Michael Frey originally had plans to expand CF to 5 or 6 U.S. cities but has since reduced these to just two for now...... Chi-town and NYC. This was the first time I had ever heard of anything like this but all I could imagine was stopping in on the way home from work for a drink and a Casa Fuente Beli. Has anybody else ever heard anything about this? ???

If I am not mistaken, Vegas has higher taxes then NY (cigar wise). I do not think it would be more money in NY.

Nevada is 30% of the wholesale price, where NY is 37% of the wholesale price. And that's not icluding the extra tobacco taxes NYC adds.

It's 37% plus the sales tax, PLUS the additional sales tax in the city. Prices would be a bit higher than Vegas. It would still be a GREAT place to go in NYC.

But in NYC it will probaly be non smoking... ha

That would be sweet to see more Casa Fuentes spring up. I wonder what that would do price/demand wise for Casa Fuentes?

There's a Casa Fuente in Corona, CA...

Well, Geoff's pretty close with Azucar, if only there were DC Lancero's!

I don't see why the Fuente's/Levin wouldn't expand their empire to more nice lounges around, and not just the Diamond Crown type lounge deal.

I did a little research. I am trying to get Fuente on board to sponsor the Cigar Lounge we are trying to open in VA. I was told there would only be one Casa Fuente, and that would be in Vegas. They have other sponsored lounges. We are trying for Club Opus. I don't know about one in Corona, but I have not been able to find it on the web. I will be near Corona in April and check it out, but I doubt it is a Casa Fuente as in LV. It might have that name, but I don't think it is a Fuente Owned B&M. I could be wrong, but I will know more in April.

Kyle, Have you been to this Casa Fuente and checked it out yet. One way to tell is if they sell the Casa Fuente Cigars.

Diamond Crown lounges. They've been popping up all over as well.

We have one in Fairfax.

I would be shocked if they opened one in Chicago - there is a statewide smoking ban. The only thing you could do in the lounge is drink alcohol and stare at what you COULD smoke if there wasn't a ban.... :(

The local B&M up here has a Diamond Crown Lounge as well... Nice place!!!

From what I've been told, there will be only ONE Original Casa Fuente and that remains in Las Vegas. Again, it's what I've been told and I've been lied to before, but nothing is on the table for one in NY or Chicago.

Sorry for that, I was just shamelessly plugging Azucar. It's "StinkiMonki's" place in Corona, it's just as nice as Casa Fuente and just about as well stocked.

Didn't mean to imply that it was a genuine Casa Fuente.

My old cigar lounge is now a "diamond crown lounge". They remodeled but nothing else has really changed.

I look forward to meeting you there if you are back in town. Geoff and I have been in touch. He thinks "the owner is way cool" LOL. Wonder why. We will stop in there to smoke.

I kind of doubt there will be another Casa Fuente any time soon. Frey might be interested in doing it, but it would require the Fuente's blessing, and I'm not sure if that'd be forthcoming.

But hey... you never know.
