Chase Utley "World F***ing Champions!"

Yeah, that was crazy. He looked like he had a little too much to drink. :) That's what happend when they get delayed for an hour and a half.
What a time... Just wish I could have gotten out of work.

So I guess if on the way home he hit a lady and her child crossing the street, that would be ok because he had to much to drink during a delay.

WTF? How do you go from cursing on TV to drunk driving?

Ok, your right that is a bit of a stretch.

Let's say that Longoria had got drunk and said that the Philly's were "World F**ckin Champs" on TV, would that be OK? My point is why are we making excuses, when there are none for behavior like that. I am glad that Philly won, I am not a Philly fan, but I am still happy to see them as champs. Utley knew where he was, and he had a responsibility to act as a professional.

It is not the quote that got under my skin, as much as the "there was a delay, so its ok" defense. Context aside, his conduct left something to be desired of a person in the public eye.

I was there! One of the best days of my life!!! Smoked a Gurhka Titan! What a day. Chase was typical Philly. Not good for kids, but all and all a historic day!

He definitely did wrong but he is the World F!@%ing Champ. :whistling: I Feel bad for the parents with kids but at least there was no wardrobe malfunction.
LOL on the running people over drunk. You realize baseball players drink after almost every game together. I haven't noticed any Phillies in the news of late.. Anything I missed?
Go Phillies!! Repeat!!

What you condone today becomes the standard of tomorrow.

Being a player on a World Series team does not give you the right to be wrong.

As far as the drunk driving, I already stated that was just an example, and a rather farfetched one at that. Never once did I state that any member of the team was out driving drunk.

You realize baseball players drink after almost every game together.
What does this have to do with anything? Because they always do it means that it in some way ok? I understand the phrase "No harm, no foul" but in Mr. Utley's case there seems to be a foul. But unless I am missing your point, because he may have been drunk means that it is ok to drop the F-Bomb while addressing almost the entire city.

Tim

Yes he was wrong but he is Chase Utley. :whistling: Now if he added mother in front, then I wouldn't condone it J/K. I know he is wrong by the way but if you haven't noticed... we just won a World Series. Find one Phillies fan that will grill him. Maybe after the high wears off. (If it was any other team Tim, I am right there with you. :p )

It is all good.

Just so we are clear, IF the Cowboys win the Super Bowl, and IF T.O. drops a phrase like Chase did, then everyone in Philly will be cool with it right? After all, he may have just won a Super Bowl.

Tim

As much as I despise the Phillies, Utley just gained a fan right here. F- the media, f- being politically correct, f- everyone who doubted him. I like that in a player. Says what he wants, whenever he wants. Utley, world f'ing champion.

I hope Hamels and Howard get season ending ACL, MCL, and PCL tears in both knees in May 2009.
Go Mets

So as a Team, what is their handicap on 18 holes.....

Nobody in Philly really cared that he said it other than us working at the TV stations that all squirmed and wondered when the fine was going to come!

I agree it wasn't appropriate... but again... nobody here really cared. In Henrys defense, it didn't sound to me like he was making excuses, just saying that he looked like he had some beers, and that was probably due to the delay. We can all lighten up around here :)

Hell the players were all holding beer bottles on the floats coming down Broad St. I think it may help to understand exactly what this means to this city and then you kind of understand the mentality.

I've got better things to get my panties bunched up for than someone dropping an f-bomb... who f'n cares...

Your right, it not really that big of a deal, just struck me the wrong way is all. All is good in da hood

Just bought a Fuente Opus X.........Fuente F*C*IN Opus X!!!!!!

....and who gave you a spoon and told you we needed help stirring the pot?

Tim

No big deal, I drop it alot myself. But to condone it in that forum, is to say it is ok for teachers to use it in the classroom.

That's all!
