He's watching.............
My wife got a call today from the school nurse that our son was in her office, complaining of being dizzy and looking white as a sheet. Since both of us had been sick this week, she went ahead and took him to the doctor as a precaution. The doctor said it was a stomach virus that was going around, just keep him hydrated, give him Motrin for the fever. My wife then call her aunt (she gets him to and from school, and watches him til we get home from work) to tell her that he sick and would be with her all day tomorrow. She asked my wife if she had heard about the salmonella/peanut butter thing going on right now, that he had eaten some out of a newly opened jar this week during a snow day. Wife brought the jar home for me to check out. Sure enough, Peter Pan with the product code starting with 2111!!
Well we freaked out, called the hospital to speak to the pediatrician on call, told him all the info we just found out. He said they think now that it could be salmonella and not the flu. We still need to keep him hydrated, and get a stool sample (guess which parent isn't going to be doing that
) and bed rest. So far he only has had a fever and stomach cramps. Just thought I'd give everyone a "heads up" to check their codes.
