Chinchillas

My cousins got scammed by the same "raising chinchillas for their pelts" scam. They had a couple of dozen of them in the basement in cages in the 1970's. I remember helping to feed them...and getting pee'd on....and the smell.

I 2nd the rat recommendation. We've had a couple..they are dirt cheap, fun to play with and live just long enough for you to get tired of them.

I went to meet him last night, he was waaaaayyyy more well mannered than I had expected.

The girl was young,. probably about my age, and was very concerned with him going to someone who knows what they're doing. I've been looking at getting one for a few years, so I'm somewhat knowledgeable on the topic, but wanted any of your experiences.

Se bought him from a breeder, and raised him herself, said she always was in contact with him when he was young, etc. From what I could tell, she'd raised him appropriately. She has owned him for about a year. just has a no rodent policy at her new apartment, and her fiance wants a dog or something.

He was super chill, liked being held, liked taking treats from your hands, etc. Nice big cage with room to run around in, comes in and out of the cage when you prompt him to, blah blah blah.

So, I said I might pick him up on Friday if I still feel like I can devote the time and energy to a new pet. I'm not so dumb as to make an impulse buy on an animal right then and there haha

He's not in chat.

It was a temp position for WSOP. They normally hire people on, and I was one of their best temps, but they didn't have the money to hire anyone this year.

So, next summer I will do it again, good 8 week job.
