Chouffe is a Belgian Strong Ale Brasserie D'Achouffe. Check out RateBeer.com to see more reviews of this and other beers. Here is my review:
Dark honey in color and cream colored head. Very tingly on the tongue. As the beer warms, it takes on a creamy texture on the palate. The lace of the beer is very "sticky". Even as the head susided, the natural bottle fermentation kept a thin layer of "suds" on the entire surface of the beer. This beer has a fruity taste. Reminiscent of a sweet citrus fruit. I won’t say orange, as that isn’t the flavor per se. There is slight honey/mead taste at the back of my palate. As the beer warms, the flavor definately opens up. There is almost no earhty flavor sometimes attributed to Belgian ales.
3.8/5
