... of what Christmas is all about.
I come home and see a package waiting for me. I'm wondering what it could be, I didn't order anything. It's from the US, not a huge package. I'm curious of course what it is, so I open it. In lies a bottle of Knob Creek 9yo bourbon. This is the part where I'm speechless. As I'm writing this, I've gathered my thoughts and trying to express my feelings as well as possible.
Thank you AVB for this breathtaking gift  It seems like my cries about the limited selection of bourbon in Finland was remembered, and now I got a bottle of something I will enjoy carefully. I don't know exactly how rare Knob Creek is in the US and frankly I don't care. It sure as hell is very VERY rare here! (that is, you can't get it here
) Thank you so very much for this AVB. A present from another country would in itself be the highlight of my Xmas, and when it's something from abroad as great as this, I'm almost crying out of joy (well not crying, I'm a man afterall
).
I can't help but feel a bit guilty here. I still consider myself new to CP and it seems I have yet to fully understand the friendships and bonds that can be made over the internet. I have hardly had any contact with you, AVB, nor been very active lately at CP (mostly due to school). To be honest, I did not consider sending an Xmas present to you because I never expected such friendliness from you or anyone else on this forum. That you would trust someone you have not met, even though this forum has had its share of unreliable members, is stunning.
I've never been much for getting Christmas presents. I don't expect to get much (even though year after year I am surprised) and thus I don't seem to think others expect it either. Either way, giving someone a present and seeing their happiness is always nice. Since I have not (yet
) gotten you anything, I hope you will at least feel happy knowing how much this meant to me. Those few of my buddies who can even remotely appreciate whisk(e)y will be so jealous
AVB, I wish you a merry Christmas. It might be a bit early, but not that far away. Unless this present was sent to me by mistake, I will assume it was a Christmas present for me
I could go on and on here, but always come back to the same conclusion: Thank you.
I hope none of this came out sounding negative, because everything about it was meant to be positive, because that's how I'm feeling now.
P.S. I have a feeling psyktek had something to do with this... Don't know how, call it intuition :whistling: Thanks to you too Bob
