I have tried a search of the forums for some of the terms and abbreviations, ie: B&H etc with no luck.

Quite a few of the posts use various abbreviations that I have not figured out. Either I'm brain dead or the late night feedings with my new baby daughter have taken their toll.

Any chance someone has a moment to shed some light?

Like I said, I did a search without much success (cigar terminology, ebonics, etc)

Everything you need to know is found on the home page.

See here!

Robbie beat me to it, you get the idea.

Cigar speak is pretty easy once you get the hang of some of the abbreviations. LFD, WOAM, etc. Just ride along on those and you will be up to speed.

I've been on this board for a while...

I'm embarrassed to ask...what is "B&H"?

Couldn't find it on the acronym page....

do you mean B&M ??

as in brick and moyter

as in physical cigar shop...

otherwise, i dont know what B&H is either..

WTF is "moyter?" ???

I've heard of "mortar."

I gotta agree with TonyG, I have no freakin' idea what "B&H" is.....

Ya never know, it could be ebonics, "bricks and homies." :sign:

As far as the term "brick and mortar" for a shop, I always thought that one was stupid even though it's a widely used term. Two of my shops (CVTobacco and Moses & Moses) are constructed out of wood and shingles and the other (Jim D's) is concrete and glass. None of them are primarily built from "bricks and mortar."

How about just calling it a "shop," what's so darn difficult about that? ??? It takes just as many keyboard keys (four) to type "shop" as it does "b&m" since you have to use the SHIFT key for the "&"

Because "shop" doesn't necessarily imply a building where you can go and buy goods any more, it can now be used to refer to an internet store as well, so B&M is used. I guess if you want you could say W&S or C&G :sign:.

I've always understood B&M to be a physical store, shop, etc. Guess I never considered that not all are necessarily made of bricks, but I think we've all understood each other.

We need to get goddam spell check here. I cannot spell to save my friggen life.

But thanks for pointing that out..

:D

I believe we do whenever you add or reply to a post in the upper right part of the box you will see ABC with the check mark under it. Click on it and you can download it. Once down loaded every time you post click it and it shows you where you screwed up(of course you got to remember to use it before hitting add reply like I forget to do at times  ). I am a very bad speller and it has saved me more than once, now if we only had something that would create proper sentence structure and punctuation I would be all set

Thanks for the link Robbiexor. Exactly what I needed.

Now ... gonna print it off, and study it this afternoon when the kids are napping AND while enjoying a Don Tomas Camaroon. (Won this and a few other honourable mentions on auction a while back)

Soooo! What's is B&H?

I have been waiting for your answer for 24 hours :sign:

Brian

Glad I saw this thread with the links. I've only been on here for a little bit and already realized I was clueless on the terminology. Thanks! :)

As we now all know now B&M is Brick & Mortar Store but it is a marketing term used to describe sales channels. For example an internet store is a virtual store. Just thought you might like a broader explanation. ;) :) Carry on.
