So....after 2 years of smoking cigars, I've almost outgrown my little fishbowl of cigar labels.I used to flatten them out in a phone book, thinking I'd do something with them, but alas, proscrastination is my middle name.

By the time I wanted to send them to somebody here, their table was completed. Maybe one day I'll try that with my limited varnishing skills although I'd have to duct tape my dog so her fur won't fly on the project in the garage.

I was gonna transfer them into a coffe mate or coffe container, but I kinda like looking at my collection.

What do you guys, with your years of smoking do with them if you collect them? Pics, anyone?

Dave

Here's mine next to all my "accessories" in the garage.

Christmas ornaments. Go to Michaels or some other crafts store, get a few Styrofoam balls, glue them flat to cover the ball then hit them with a coating of Shellac or Lacquer. Never done it myself but Momma does it every year with the bands the boys save up all year then gives them back to us as gifts. :sign:

I don't know how exciting a picture of my garbage can would be :(

I started to collect them!
One goes into my notebook for review and the 2nd one goes on a frame (see my avatar)

I used a coffee can and some old cigar boxes. But after seeing Souldog's table I decided to make one of my own.

But how many bands will it take?

I'm almost out after saving for three years!

Hey, I never noticed that in your avatar till now, when you're done, it'll be a nice work of art, but do you keep opening it frequently? I'd figure the tabs on the back would have broken off by now.

I like the use of Habanos labels, seals, but what are those large pics from, the inside protector sheet from the boxes? A heavy glass covered table like yours looks do-able to me now as I can add,yet still use the table. Hmmmmmmmmm. Thinking, thinking.

Well I do keep on opening the frame... But the tabs are supper strong LOL, I was soooo surprised considering that the frame was 8 bucks from walmart

Yes, the large sheets are from the inside of Habanos boxes. I also steamed off several stickers and warranty seals.

It's a lot more work than I ever thought.

Most of my ISOM's come sans box due to very strict customs staff in the islands. But again, anything Habanos does have an allure to a culture and heritage towards cigar history. Wonder if I could steam off some NC box labels?

I almost bought this large jar from WallyWorld (maybe similar to The Black Cloud's jar?)

but I got cold feet.
