My Cigar Oasis died this week, as I discovered on Tuesday that my humidor had a huge amount of condensation in it!!! Turns out the unit was running full blast, and would not turn off once the set RH was reached. I unplugged it, waited a few minutes, hooked it back up and it was still running full steam. I tried adjusting the RH, no dice. I finally gave up and chucked the thing, left my humidor open for an hour to get rid of the excess humidity, and then ordered a half pound of beads. At least these things won't malfunction!

Just a heads up to anyone who owns a Cigar Oasis to keep an eye on it in case this happens to you. Over humidified cigars (not to mention the risk of mold) is not a welcome thought....

Why overcomplicate things with an complicated electrical wigwam, when you can relax with some simple beads?

Good call on the new purchase.

Well said, and truth be told, I was planning on switching to beads once I upgraded my humidor to a wine cellar, so really all this did was make me pull the trigger early. Gotta love the simplicity of the beads!
