I'm now issuing a "Call to Arms" to my CP brothers to become CRA members if you have not done so already. In speaking with heads of the organization I have been impressed with their model of grass roots beginnings much like the NRA in building a following and lobbying team in battling new tax increases and smoking bans. Not only will your monies go directly to fight new taxes and smoking bans but the membership entitles you to free invites to local cigar events with the major manufacturers and free giveaways. They have in the past offered free trip raffles to Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Honduras and the Bahamas. I was invited to a private members only after party during the big smoke in Connecticut where all the major manufacturers gave out cigars, drinks, and discussed all the issues and concerns with CRA members.

As a consumer I really want to support our rights to smoke in more places and let our local governments know that we are tired of those restrictions. To sweeten new membership to my CP brothers if you sign up now and SS me that you did I will send you a little something you might enjoy as I believe there is strength in our numbers. The only thing I ask is when you go to their website to become a member please denote that you heard from Christian and include my member # 175966. The more of us that have a voice, the more the politicians have to listen as the bottom line is they want to keep their jobs and need our votes. I will also keep you updated on events going on and the new cigars coming soon to only CRA members. I got a sneak preview and you will not be disappointed! Thanks for your support!! They should ask for donations. They could get a lot of small donations adding up quickly to a serious war chest.

Not everybody has the amount needed for dues, but might have a buck or three to toss into the pot.
 
Smoke shops should definitely join as well. Once a smoke shop becomes a member, that shop can encourage locals to join. I run a store...I am not affiliated with the CRA....but I do agree that there is power in numbers. If this organization can't get millions of people to join, it will be worthless. But I believe it can and will get that many people....easliy.

The B&M I go to is an affiliate. I've been to events where the rep gives perks for joining CRA at the event. Join for a year, $35... get $30 worth of smokes. So there are other good reasons for shops to be affiliates.

I hope you will consider joining.

You can also make donations as well and the membership fee is well worth what CRA sends and offers members thanks to the manufactures support. Although I am affiliated with CRA I am merely a consumer and lover of the leaf who does not receive any compensation from them. I just want to show my support and help as this is a passion and enjoyment I have and I get angry when it is infringed on to the point of absurdity. All should be able to enjoy themselves not just politicians, the wealthy or select few. As a matter of fact if I sign up 50 members they will send me a ticket to the NY Big Smoke in November. If this is a physical ticket sent to me I will be raffling it off and donate the proceeds right back to CRA. Thanks for the support and protect our rights!

Update: Just wanted to update that now anyone who joins CRA will receive 2 limited edition size and blend cigars for free. The manufacturers involved are as follows:
