VeriPak has some great shipping materials -- I believe I've found the perfect thing for shipping 1-7 cigars in:

ch744.jpg

Prod. No.: 03-0608 -- Reclosable Bubble Cushioning Bags

What's great about it is:

-- It's a sealable bag
-- It's padded
-- It fits perfectly into the "video cassette" sized Priority Mail packages, no additional padding needed

So to ship a few cigars out -- a bomb, trade, whatever -- you just open the bag, drop the cigars in, pop it into the priority mail container, and ship it. Takes a lot of the hassle out of sending cigars out.

No more rummaging around for peanuts, used bubble wrap, old newspapers, etc. to pad your cigars... no more stealing ziplock bags from your kitchen... and they can be re-used by whomever you send them to.

A box of 50 of the 6" x 8" ones cost about $40 -- so it's about 80 cents per mailer -- not bad, especially considering they can probably be re-used for years.

Thanks Moki :)
I had been trying to come up with a good shipping idea.
This should be perfect

While you're talking about cigar shipping.. Want to share some details of that deluxe rolls royce cigarpass box you made? I see lots of people talking about it being too warm to pass, but considering the roster of cigars in your pass I'm guessing you are very confident that box will be ok.

:D I started using the multi colored fashionable padded, plastic bags from my local Walgreens for .69 cents each, get all thats described here, and been using them for over 100 snipes last year, and not one complaint received. Nicely holds 5 firmly, yet fragilly as a Momma holds her newborn! USPS postage nationwide $1.49 on em too.... A couple of gals up n asked me to buy and send them to them to use....LOL>..just my 2 cents, my story and I am sticking to it. ...FMF

Now that's a neat idea.
Resealable padded ziplock bags to add extra protection to those stogies in transit. :)

The best thing about it for me is that it is very little work. Prior to this, I'd seal the cigars in a ziplock bag, then tape it closed, then dig around for bubble wrap, tape it around the cigars, then dig around for "filler" to pad the package (usually I'd use peanuts, other bubble wrap, etc). I'd have to make sure I used enough to keep the cigars in place, but not too much so it wouldn't close or press it too tightly.

With these bags, you just drop the cigars in, and because how perfectly it fits into the "video cassette" sized priority mail box, it's braced in place.

Hehe... he must have burnt the rest of his old-style bubble wrap sending out the Padron boxes... was a whole lot in my care package that showed up. ;)

The only problem I see is that you still have to use individual Zip lock bags per ceegar or they will be rubbing inside the bubble wrap bag. Just a thought. Still I like the idea and I have afew on hand right now..... :D  :p

Nah, you really don't -- just pack it full enough, or let it ride, the bubble bags keep the cigars pretty well in place. Buy hey, can always use the individual bags if your cigars aren't cello'd and you're worried about it.

Celloed sticks will not need another bag on them, but naked ones will, even packed full and tight, there will still be enough movement that wrappers will get busted. Seen it too many times to think otherwise. ???
