Hey all, I’m looking for suggestions for a small cigar that will take only about 30 minutes or so to smoke. It doesn't have to be that complex. Just something simple and tasty. I've got a lot of down time at work and would love to fill it with a nice stogie. I've been taking some of my cigars and just clipping them in half and smoking them, but I'd prefer if I could just find a decent small cigar. Generally I like the real earthy and leathery tasting cigars. Any suggestions people have would be great.

+1 on the Short Story, although I tend to get well over 20 minutes out of them.

One I don't see recommended often enough is the smallest size Don Lino Africa, the Kuba I think it's called, which usually comes in a tin of 4 for around $16. It's as potent, meaty and full-bodied as the rest of the line, just in a convenient 20 minute smoking package and attractive tin . . .

Seriously, of all the "juniors" and tin sizes I've tried, it's hands down the best.

+2 on short story. I had one last night very complex flavors for such a little cigar. Had nutty and notes of chocolate, at the first third, going into the second third went into a pleasant earthy and leathery taste. Last third held a punch of leathery taste that got me feeling good. Perfect draw and burn. Highly recommenced.

I am not a real Gurka fan, but they make a tin called Exotica De Orient, it is an Orange tin, they are great little 20 min smokes, come 5 in a tin for about 15.00

Don Pepin Cuban Classic - Perla 1952
P A M 1964 - Principe
Padrón Serie 1926 - #35
Ashton VSG - Tres Mystique

These are all very nice short smokes.

Hey Sewer Ranger, I think I've got one or two of these hiding in one of my humis (I'm at work at the moment). If you want I can send you out a couple to try out. Just let me know. They are quite tasty!

I'd add the following:

Tatuaje Petit Tatuaje (cab of 50, yum!)
Cabiguan Petit (another cab of 50)
Padilla 1932 La Perlas (also a cab of 50, notice a theme?)

Well I certainly won't turn down some free stogies. You guys have given me a ton of different cigars to try. Thank you all for your suggestions. Now I just need to convince security to let me take a cutter and torch lighter into the office.

For the money I think you will be hard pressed to find a better quick smoke. I love all those mentioned above, but if I was at work and need to put a Tres or #35 out I would quite.

Okay, so I ordered the Perla 1952's and the Rocky Patel Sungrown Petite Corona's. When I get them in and get a chance to light one up at work, I'll let you all know how it turns out. Thanks for the suggestions.

AF Short Story or most of the Nubs

Agreed with the short story but with the Nub I've noticed you end up taking about as much time as a robusto because if they are smoked too quickly the split on you somewhere around the middle and its really annoying. So yeah, but the short story I had Saturday night was really good. As a matter of fact in my avatar I think thats what I was smoking...hmm. But yeah anyway, Short Story is the way to go in my book. If you don't mind paying a little more then the Ashton VSG Tres Mystique.
