I finally signed up with cigar bid and just won some Gurkhas. You weren't kidding, it's addictive. I better go buy some more coolers.

As a bonus... I've found that C-Bid and the folks at CI are a collection of some really good people..I have met with and Herfed with quite a few of them (in fact a senior member of the staff was at a BBQ/Herf I attended last evening) plus they came BIG for our "Support the Troops" Holiday Drive.... Somehow, it takes a little of the sting out of torching your credit card from overuse to at least know that some decent folks are receiving your $$$.

Yea, I just got a huge bill from them last Friday. I think it is time to put my credit card in a tub of water and freeze it. ... Oh shoot .. they have the information on file. DOH!! :0 ???

I love Cbid but for some reason I can never find the really good deals out there. Anyone wanna give me cbid lessons? Guess I need to be there more often and pay closer attention.

Bid for multiple items on the same lot. For exaple, if there are 10 availiable, bid for 6-7 of them at the final price you are willing to pay. You might get lucky and win 1 or 2 of them at a bargain. For the most part, if you are paying anything less than what they sell it for at CI, you are getting a deal anyways.

Bid up to what you are comfortable with, after all, you know you are going to be spending more than you think if you are going for the week window for the combined shipping.

What I did was use Cbid to try some things I'd never had at a really cheap price (so if it sucks, you're not out much). If you bid on popular or hard-to-find sticks like Anejos or anything like that when they show up, the price gets ridiculous. But if you look at some of the lesser-known sticks, you can usually get them for about half of retail. Some of them suck, but you can find a few good ones in there. That's how I discovered Perdomos. I won a fiver that retails for $36 for only $17.

I believe eric won some cuban bullets on there too right?

Thoses were pretty good!

I decided it was time to stop bidding for a while -- it was getting pretty ridiculous how many cigars I was getting!

Problem is, even if you tell yourself "No more bidding" you still have a bunch of open bids and bids you've won -- you end up still paying for and getting cigars for a couple of weeks after you stop! And by then, you've fully recovered and start looking at new lots to bid on!

It's a brilliant, vicious cycle they have going on over there!

Thanks for the advice guys, now Im off to see how well I can do at this. If you see "CYG" as the comment just know Im out there givin it hell. If I get a really good deal Indyrob and Eshaw are getting cigars in the mail.
