On my desk I have a gallon sized fisk tank. Two fish, Starsky and Hutch, live there. They have lived there since my first fish Leroy died. Well, today I cleaned the tank, and noticed, I've got alot of cigar tubes laying around. I have coozies on my desk filled with them. I often grab one to carry a cigar on my way to work or something. Just so I don't drop it. Well, I filled one of the tubes up with rocks (after cleaning it) and put it in with them today. I thought it was pretty funny. Have a look:

If this goes well, I'm thinking of a airplane size bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. He he he.

:D :D :D

yup I see it now. Haha Punch. Isn't that like Aluminum? Doesn't it like rust or give up chemicals harmful to your fish in water?

I'm sorry for your lose. :(

I know how it is when you loose a loved one. I once had a gold fish, Swimmy. I used to grap him and set him down on the kitchen counter top while I emptied and cleaned his bowl. It was a delicate process; I had to rush to clean the bowl, all the while trying to keep him from falling off the counter while he flopped around. Our dog, Blue, would stand by in hopes of a fishy snack, in the event that the fish were to fall to the floor. Well, one day, after a good cleaning, Swimmy wasn't his usual cheery self and he wouldn't eat. We laid him to rest that day, and tears welled in my eyes as I fed the fish to my cat. But he has never been forgotten and I will always have beautiful memories of our time together. :(

But yeah, I agree with JonnyKu. That tube is gonna kill your fish.

Cleaning the bowl tommorrow, i've got some Ashton Crystal tubes, maybe those? I'll post a new pic tommorrow.

And man, I totally understand your pain. Leroy actually died from alcohol poisoning. Note to self: Don't get drunk with your pets.....

:( :( :(

Last I checked Iron rusts, Aluminum does not.

Another quesstion may be, is the tube all aluminum or a blend?

For right now, it's still in there. If anyone knows a safier metal tube i can get my hands on, i would like to know. I set it up different with a Airplane sized vodka bottle in there, and they love swimming around them. For two fishes, I've spend way too much time with them.

When iron oxidizes, it's called rust (reddish orange). When aluminum oxidizes, it's called aluminum oxidation (white). :p Same process, just less noticeable with aluminum (which is supposedly toxic).

Cigars and Fish? Didn't Clinton try that? :sign: :p

Justed check out your fish in that picture ,,
Maybe you should loose the tube, the fishes head is turning red,,,,,
it's iron oxidizing,,,
or was that aluminum oxidizing,,,,

I'm way to hooked on this site !!!!! :D :D
