After looking at the mold pics just posted in another thread, I thought about something I see on some of my Ashton and Fuente smokes. The wrappers on some appear to have a light coating of something that looks almost like a sugary film. I don't know how to describe it exactly and my camera isn't good enough to capture it. Anyway, just wonder if some wrappers are coated?

Pectin.

Just to clarify pectin is a powder extracted from citrus fruits. It is used as a gelling agent as well. (wikipediaed it) To my knowledge it isn't flavored. Don't quote me on that though... I'm sure some manufacturer somewhere does.

Also from wikipedia: "In the cigar industry, pectin is considered an excellent substitute for vegetable glue and many cigar smokers and collectors will use pectin for repairing damaged tobacco wrapper leaves on their cigars."
