I just smoked my first Siglo VI Tubo I got in yesterday and I must say I was VERY impressed. Great smoke with a nice draw, firm dark ash, and same great flavor that Cohiba offers. Two  up!

I'm official...Cohiba Club. Ever since I was introduced to Cohiba, it found a very special place in my heart. I can't imagine what age can do for it. I'm waiting to get my hands on an aged Cohiba. Oh, some day I guess...someday :whistling: .

I had my first a few weeks back. From all I've heard, I'm thinking I must have gotten a bad one - I wasn't very impressed. The flavor was okay, on the flat side, but it had a terrible finish. I couldn't even smoke it all the way down... Very unusual for a cigar of that reputation...

Give me a Monte any day of the week!!!

I love Cohibas, but I continue to be unimpressed with the Siglo VIs, especially for the $$. Perhaps in time...

Was it the 2000 Siglo III you got from me? I've smoked about 7 from that box and each one has been outstanding. What rh are you storing your habanos at?

Yep, Scott... I must have gotten a bad one. Got em stored around 70% (fluctuates between 68 and 70).

Sorry - thought it was a Siglo VI (the mind is a terrible thing after age 40). But, yeah, it wasn't what I was expecting... Not your fault, though... the H. Upman's I got from you were fantastic!!! I love those little smokes....

I'd drop that RH to at least 65, maybe even lower for those other island smokes. All the Siglo III from 2000 I've had were incredible :D

IME 67rh or higher will produce muddled flavors and draw problems, especially with small ring gauge cigars like the Sig III. If you haven't calibrated your hygro you should. Use a jar or a canister, I've had varying results with freezer bags and even tupperware. I would drop the rh, I like to keep mine at 63-64.

I'll have to put them in my "cheaper" humi, which constantly stays around 60-65. I was having problems with some of my cigars wrappers falling apart (not the ISOM's, but some of my better cigars) in the dryer humi, so I didn't want to destroy the ISOM's by keeping them dryer...

I've heard you don't necessarily have to keep the cigars at 70/70, but I didn't know they should be stored that much below 70 (I've heard between 65 and 70).

This is why I like hanging out here....

Moki,
What is your favoite vitola in the Cohiba line?

Siglo III in general; Siglo V as well -- for playing poker, I like Esplendidos. Also love the Lanceros.

60-65% is more like it. You'd have to go a lot lower then that for an extended period of time to ruin your cigars. You can thank me later :D

Haven't had any of those except the Esplendidos. Other's I've had are the CoRo and VI. Someday, I'll get to try them all...Someday.
