I find the LGC Wavell Maduro to be a full bodied pungent smoke that I really love. It's also a real kick-ass cigar for its size. However, I really love big cigars. Would the Soberano or Charlemagne in Maduro increase the strength profile significantly over the Wavell or does the bigger cigar open up the taste profile? I'm not sure I could smoke a Soberano or Charlemagne if they were significantly stronger than the Wavell. Thank you for any advice/caution you can provide.

In my opinion, the Charlemagne in maduro is the absolute best of the basic LGC line. I don't think it is a stronger cigar (then, I don't think LGCs are strong), but it is a more complex cigar. I think the blenders have more "wiggle-room" with a larger cigar (longer and larger ring gauge), so they can add some complexity to the stick. It's a great smoke.

Thank you. That sold me on buying a box of Charlemagne Maduro's. Hey, free lighter with purchase at JR. Yippee. But seriously, I can't wait to light one up. I understand they are even better with 3 years aging on them. Mine won't make it that long.

ding ding!

I think they try to keep the proprtions close within the same line. Yes you will notice slight differences but I highly doubt you will find serious differences in nicotine strength within the same line.

Of course as I typed that I thought of the Opus X xXx....but even then it's not like it's out of the ballpark of the other Opi.
