I have got a problem with my computer that I have no idea how to resolve :( When I start the computer it takes me to a screen saying the system.ini is looking for a nwlink.vxd file to boot my computer ???
Some how this file has been deleted from my system. I have tried to bypass this prompt and can actually get to a safe mode position.

Look I know you hit the little button on the front of the machine and it starts running and if you put a disk in the cd it will run a program ........after that I am lost :( :(

The wife is complaining the kids can't play their games I need help. If I didn't have this old laptop I'd be in trouble.

If any of you have a clue on how to fix this mess I am in would greatly appreciate some help :)

Thanks

This usually occurs because of problems that occurred during the installation of Dial-Up Networking and/or installation of Windows Networking components.

To fix the error you will need to:
Reinstall Dial-Up Networking.
Reinstall Windows Network components
It may be necessary to uninstall any firewalls first and then reinstall them after doing the following
These steps are not easily done, the how to can be found here

Thanks for the post PB. Handy place to have for us computer challenged folks. :p

Oh, that's an easy one!

With the laptop, you can travel around. Tell the wife & kids "you guys gripe too much, I'm outta here", grab a few of your favourite cigars and get a little peace and quiet in your life.

There, isn't that better?

(No, no... don't mention it -- I'm just happy to help :D)
