Consuegra's No. 9's just came in

Don't know that I've tried the #9M, however, I throughly enjoy the #73. I've only tried them in Maduro. I generally pick them up on the 1st of the month when the shipping is only a $1.

I'm down to just a few of the No. 9's. Sure is difficult letting these guys age! I have a lot of friends who like to smoke cigars once in a while, but are not serious cigar smokers by any means. These are EXCELLENT cigars to keep on hand for them. Everyone who has smoked a No. 9 has loved them, and at a dollar a pop, I love them too. :D

I'm going to get some more. What other Connies should I get?

I ordered a bundle of #9s solely because of all the hype here. I did a trade a while back and believe that I received some #9s as part of that. I remember that they were quite tasty. I also believe that Bruce is the BOTL that sent them to me. I look forward to giving them a try after letting them sit a while.

I did some checking though my PMs and it was in-fact - NullSmurf that introduced me to the #9s back in June - along with a few extras in the trade. My first intro to the generosity here.

Thanks a lot guys,
The reviews and suggestions got my "must purchase" portion of my brain working overtime.

A bundle of #9's and a bundle of #30's on the way. :whistling:

Now I just have to find someplace to store them all :D

-Tim :)

If you like the 9's in Maduro, the 30's in Maduro should be up your alley.

That's why the best advice here is to get a humidor larger than you think you need.....

And then times that by 2 or 3!!!

and to sum it up. just buy a cooler.

Heh... Going to get one this year for sure, at least I hope so anyway.
I have a couple of large tupperdors that I've been using, one for my cigars and the other for my pipe tobacco.
I just bought a nice large-ish humi for the gars, and I'm going to transfer all my pipe tobby to mason jars, so that'll free up the tupperdors for this.
A cooler would be nice, but there's no way the roomie would let me keep a cooler upstairs, and the side effects from my cancer treatments have made it difficult to get up and down stairs without hurting (that's supposed to go away eventually), so a cooler just isn't practical for me right now. Not much of a collection right now anyway.

Besides, I spend way too much time fondling the goods to leave them all alone in the basement, but maybe a nice cooler'dor down there would give me incentive to get on the treadmill as long as I'm down there anyway.

So I just tried a #9M gifted to me with 3 years on it and for a buck it was fantastic! Just ordered 3 bundles (using the excuse of my firstborn son will be here in July) and now I have the same problem....where to put them! I never thought I would fill the humi and now I'm already thinking....coolidor! Oh Lord, what have you all done to me?!

Well, they arrived yesterday.
A bundle of #9 Maduro and a bundle of #30 Natural -I screwed up and ordered the wrong ones. I ordered a bundle of #30 Maduro yesterday to fix that mistake.

I smoked one of the naturals last night. It was pretty dry. The wrapper started to flake off after I cut it. Other than that though, darn good smoke.
Lots of smoke and a nice leafy/woody taste to it. Should be fantastic after it's had some time to re-humidify and age a bit.

I'm going to try a #9 tomorrow after I get home from work.

Don't be surprised if the #9 is a bit harsh. 30 days rest and they'll improve.

I was gifted a bundle by my girlfriend on a trip to Miami (no 9 maduro). She didn't know the cigars, she just doesn't have a lot of money, and they are a bargain. I smoked one and then put the rest in my cabinet. Wasn't bad. People say they get better with age....We'll see. They're a good everyday smoke I guess...

I tried one out of the bundles I ordered after only resting it 5 days to compare it to the 3 year old one and yeah, it was a bit young and harsh, but still not bad. I still nubbed it. The flavor I think is amazing for what you pay. Truth be told, I would reach for one of these before some of the $8 sticks I've had.

I believe that the majority of seconds are probably selected, bundled and sold to the the B&Ms and online stores without having been aged like the firsts are aged. When you buy them from an online store, you run the risk of getting a bundle that has not been aged in their storage areas.

The advantage to buying them in a B&M is that you can look at the cellophane and choose the bundle that has the cellophane with a yellow tint signifying that it has been sitting there for a while. The more yellow tint that the cellophane has, the older the bundle will be.

the 84's might be interesting.
Yep, the #84 Maduros. One thing that most people don't know is each number can be many different cigars. So it's a bit of a crap shoot unless you can get precise dimensions AND info.

Here is a partial spreadsheet:

http://m-a-t.com/cigars/connie.html

As you can see, #84 MAD can be three different cigars; but, all are good!
