Is there a certain flavor characteristics for certain countries and what are they? Honduras Dominican and Nicaraguan is what i am interested in.

Hey guys i have been smoking cigars for a few years but it wasnt till a few months ago till i really learned how to smoke one. Meaning how to cut it light it and taste it really well. I was wondering what are the main differences in the tastes between countries where the tobacco is from. for instance i know the big ones are Nicaraguan Honduran and Dominican (cubans illegal USA). Recently i have had a My Father #2 and Rocky Patel 15th anniversary and a Ashton VSG eclipse and one other ashton i dont recall.

both the my father and the Rocky Patel had somewhat of a minty taste to them and they are both nicaraguan. The Ashton on the other hand was smoother but didnt really give much of a distinct taste also i noticed the same thing in macanudo cigars. The Ashtons and Macanudos were Dominican. Have not had a Honduran before.

So since i noticed a similarity in cigars from same country i was wondering is there a general type of flavor or characteristic in taste specific to the countries?

I assume you're talking about Puros. Many people use all three tobaccos in a blend.

The lines have blurred, even with the Puros. After years of experimenting with different seeds in different soils there are no rules anymore. Fuente, Gomez, and Pepin have taken the "next step".
