I'll be leaving for our marriage/honeymoon on Feb 27th to the Caribbean. I know that we can't bring alcohol on board and was wondering about cigars. To be safe, should I just take the bands off the ISOMs and go from there, when taking them on board? I'll be hitting the LCdH and might buy a few, just for S&Gs. A friend said that the cruise announces on the last day to smoke all the ISOMs. I thought I read somewhere that you can bring up to 50 back, for personal use. Am I wrong? To get around this, should I just take the bands off?

Anyone else been cruising and brought back some cigars?

You can't bring any back. Take a bunch of Connie labels with you.

That was my plan, just making sure. Thanks Emo.

Anyone else have recommendations on excursions? We're going to St. Marteen, St. Thomas, and other places. We'll be gone 7 days.

I was on a cruise last February. I brought a bottle of Capt. Morgan's and a bottle of Dalmore 12yo on the shipped packed in my suitcase. I also brought my otterbox full of banded ISOM which was also packed in my suitcase. The only thing I bought and brought back was a bottle of HC7 which was packed in a suitcase. I had no issues at all. However my bags were not searched upon re-entry into the US

my roomie brought me some montie's from london over x-mas, and he didn't get search. EShaw went on a cruise recently and said every place he looked had bad cigar storing techniques.

In St Thomas there is a lot of good shopping. I do recommend going to the top of the mountain on the cable car and having lunch over looking the bay. It really is beautiful from up there.

I didn't go to any of the places you're going, but the only ISOM's I saw for sale were either obvious fakes, or they were being sold from a folding table outside in the sun. So be careful where you purchase. You shouldn't have any problem bringing some on board with you, but you're not allowed to bring any back. However, I was not searched upon re-entry to the U.S.

I've been on several cruises and from my experience it's sort of a crap shoot. If you don't happen to get searched, there is no problem. If you do, and you have ISOMs w/ bands, they will obviously confiscate them. To be safe, I would bring some other bands to put on any ISOMs you acquire on your trip.

I actually have been on a number of different cruises and I alway take my own personal tupperdore with me. I have never had trouble carrying cigars onto or off of the ship and yes I have even carried home questionable cigars :whistling: I have never bought boxes mind you only 5ers. And well I really never carry them myself come to think of it I always pack them with my wifes pesonal care goodies LOL ..........................seriously though Cuban Cigars are illegal to bring into the country thats the law  One of the other things is I carry my cigars with me and never pack them into my bags only into the plane carryon bag ;)

Booze is a whole new story last cruise I was on my own bag never made it to the room why. Because I packed my own Crown Royal for the room. NOPE not going to happen. The wine will get through but they'll want to charge you a corkage fee of 10-15 bucks.

Prices in the Carribean will be very tempting but I must warn you be very cautious if its too good to be true it IS! Do yourself a favour bring your own! Have a great time and ENJOY you guys should see the outside of your stateroom anyway LOL
