So there I was...driving back to work in downtown Niagara Falls and BAM.....my award-winning HHR "Tropicar" gets tangled up with a Hyundai. I was able to drive away with no injuries and just the font bumper cover mangled while the poor Hyundai had to be towed (the other guy wasn't hurt either and neither car's airbags deployed)...but I gotta say this was NOT the way I wanted to start the weekend. :(

Damn! Thought it was a more serious subject. Nice looking vehicle, hope you finf parts for it.

Well, she's in the shop and is expected to emerge on Friday looking as good as new, and more than ready to defend last year's "Best of Class" trophy at the 2008 GM Powertrain Show in September.

Don't know about the Hyundai...I think it may be laid up for awhile.

As we say in the jeep world... It'll buff out!!! No worries!

Nah, just kidding, I hate that feeling when you hear your car crunch, it's awful. Glad it can all be repaired.

May I ask why it was award winning, or for a lil more explanation? Can I see some other pictures of it? I'm interested to see!

Thanks for asking! I bought the HHR in March '07 with plans to mildly customize it with a Key West theme. In the process I discovered a website that catered to HHR owners and quickly found all sorts of links to cool stuff to mod my ride. I also found other like minded souls from the western New York and southern Ontario region who have formed the basis of an informal car club. One of our first events was a car show sponsored by one of the local chevy car clubs and held on the grounds of the GM engine plant outside Buffalo last summer. There were 8 of us with HHR's entered in the "1990-Present Stock" class and darned if I didn't take home a trophy! I think my 1/8 scale replica of my car that sat on display on the engine block and the orange pedal car perched on the roof might have caught the judges eyes. To go on a bit, last winter I entered the car on the website's monthly "Featured HHR' contest and was voted the winner for February. So that's the story. Here's a couple pics from the show. I posted other pics of the car in the member gallery.
