I cannot believe it when I walked into get a bag of ice in the off-license*, literally NEXT DOOR to my flats**, this morning.

Havanas! Romeo y Julietas, Upmans, Bolivars, (and I think I saw Diplomaticos, but can't remember).

Ok so they're fairly expensive - £9.50 ($18ish USD) for a tubed Romeo y Julieta no.2, but sheesh what a local resource for a Cuban!

I'm pretty lucky, as I work about 100 yards from a big seller too - but they're prices are extreeme - e.g. £30 ($60 USD) for a Cohiba Robusto.

Hopefully this doesn't contradict the sources rule, as I'm not posting where I live!

The quick haul I got considering the lack of cash on me at the time:

Sometimes Life throws you a bone....enjoy it!

Nice unexpected haul I must say...makes it even sweeter

Let us know how they smoke

PS: how was their humidification in this little shop?...just curious how serious they were about carrying them. If it's substandard, you may have to go back and rescue a few more

Only a tiny haul but all from pocket change, which was nice. About $60 worth.

They have them in an a large plastic container, which had ceder-wood inlays on the base.

Seeing as they're all tubed, I suspect they can get away with it.

Next time I'm in, I'll grab a pic. Was a surprise to say the least, you only find them in specialist shops usually. Looks like a few have been sold already too (besides the ones I bought!)

Edit:
Just smoking a small no.3 at the mo - it's fine, it certainly has the soft squish of a decently humidified cigar, not dry at all.

You can never guess what - after talking to the owner, she said there's now a big offering down the road too.

5 mins walk and I find this:

So I bought a few, and a new bottle of 7 year old rum:

Just amazed whats popping up so local at the moment.

Wow, great find. I am remember the thrill of finding Opus at my local B&M, not the forbidden fruit but hard to find.

So the conversion is like 2 of your dollars to 1 of mine. So that means 25-30 dollars US for the Cohibas? Does that price include tax and import fees? Makes me not mind paying 8% here.

Anyway I got of topic, great find, its nice to know that you have a nice selection just down the road. Plus its always easier to justify I ocassionaly small purchase of fine cigars than one large bill.

No it's two US dollars to one of our pounds. Depends what Cohiba's you're looking at - the robustos in the 2nd pic are £20.99 which is $40...

But yeh, nice to pick up one or two.

Thing is, I find it more expensive in my mind to buy one or two at individual prices than a whole box - just seems an awful lot to burn!

You are hereby assesed an appropriate fine to be sent directly to ME! :sign:

Drool! Drool! Drool!

Nice find! :D

Thats what I meant to say, just got a little confused over the metric conversion

That is not cheap. Ouch.

Cool find, but sounds like a wallet breaker!

If live in Holland and there are a lot of "sources" in my area
I try try to drive past them and not to stop, because it wil hurt my wallet

Cheers Rene

btw got friends in the UK and I did not see a single sigar being smoked while I was out there in July.
Accept for my self

Yeh you don't see too many cigar smokers out in the wild tbh.

Your prices seem on par with what we pay here in Toronto give or take a few dollars. The way only way I know to deal with the high prices is to plan a trip to Cuba and bring back

Wow, thats great!! Hope they are well kept in that cabinet.
