CUC on its way out

It is now official, the CUC/Convertible Peso will be eliminated April 1. If you are holding any after that date they are worthless. The Cuban Peso will be the official currency after that date. John

The CUC is trading 1:1 on the street vs U$D. It should go higher as the date approaches.

Was in the Cuban Interest section in Havana (US Embassy) the other day and the consular fees are being accepted 1:1 (CUC vs USD). Thought it might have been old Havana tricks by the workers to get dollars, but there was an official sign posted at the cashiers window. Would loved to have taken a pic but they don't allow cel phones. They now also provide a printed version of the Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald daily. John
