Sportscaster, fly fisherman, Curt Gowdy died today at 86. If you're my age or older, you grew up listening to him broadcasting Red Sox games on the radio. My fondest memory of him is his call fo Ted Williams last at bat. A home rum to right field in Fenway Park. Many of you may recall his call of Hank Aaron's record breaking home run and the 14 World Series he announced. They just don't make sportcasters like him anymore. RIP, and thanks for the memories.

Doc :(

RIP, he had such a distinctive voice. He will be missed!

My earliest memory of him is when he hosted a show called "The American Sportsman". Really enjoyed his baseball commetary. He'll be missed.

He was wonderful on the American Sportsman, I got to meet one of his cameramen who did the filming and he had nothing but wonerful things to say about him. All was done first class.

a voice to be remembered, with the olympics on right now it's really ironic. RIP!

Greetings! Yes, Curt Gowdy was a great sportscaster. I enjoyed watching ABC's "The American Sportsman". Some of the segments for that show were filmed years ago near where I live. Mr. Gowdy will be missed. Regards, knightlaird
