The wife's been after me for years to learn how to swing and salsa. It's not something that has interested me, so I've been dodging it pretty well.

Then this past Christmas rolled around and I could not find the "perfect" gift. So... I signed us up for Ballroom I lessons at the local dance school. To make a long story short, we've been to 3 classes so far, and we both enjoy the hell out of it. As of now, I can swing and do the Foxtrot pretty well. Lesson 4 is tonight, which I think is the cha-cha.

Anyone else ever taken lessons? :whistling:

Before the wife and I got married she made us take them. I have 3 left feet. I wish I were better at it. It always looks like fun for the people that know what they are doing. You and the wife will have to show us some moves in Vegas.

LOL....I will get my first dance lesson in the upcoming months that way I can do father/daughter dance in the program that the studio she goes to puts on. Other than that no dancing for me, I suck at it

My wife wanted us to learn to dance. Instead, I bought her the carmen electra stripper/pole dancing video. She didnt think it was too funny.

Yup, took lessons for a couple of years ....Swing, Foxtrot, Cha-cha, Merengae, Salsa, Waltz, Rumba. My favorites are the Rumba, Salsa, Swing and Cha-cha .... go figure. We really enjoy it, had a lot of fun and it got us out of the house one night a week. We mostly took private lessons but did switch to group lessons for a few months, was that an eye opening experience dancing with some interesting ladies :whistling: .

The wife and I tried that a few years ago. We didn't practice often enough and I could never remember the steps. But I'd still love to learn lindy and swing dancing.

Good idea. I'm adding that to the event schedule for Saturday night.
