So moral of the story: If someone leads an armed insurrection against you, don't let them out in two years? I was stunned to see that. Not that Batista's regime wouldn't have eventually collapsed upon itself anyway, but history might have known a different name had a stiffer penalty been levied at Castro for his early actions.
