Humble Arrogance
Davidoff Escurio 10 Anniversary LE Toro Gordo
Pre-light: foot and body have the same scent of cappuccino, honey, vanilla bean, and lingering hints of musty barn yard and jalapeno.
The cigar lights effortlessly, which I usually can’t say is the case. I “dry boxed” for about 15 minutes. Which is all we need here in Vegas after pulling a stick from the Humidor.
The initial aroma as I toast the foot is intoxicating. It smells like a Starbucks caramel macchiato tastes.
Initial pulls reveal vanilla, sweet tobacco, cream, nutmeg, and a lingering finish of chili spice. There’s a lovely aged tobacco funk on the initial pull that’s prevalent throughout the entire inhale and exhale, that lightly coates your palate.
What a brilliant start.
I am literally smoking a cappuccino.
Halfway through the first third and the depth of the Brazilian tobacco starts to reveal itself.
Second third starts the same as the first finished. More espresso notes shining through and the scent of a fresh cut jalapeño moving around in the background.
Same flavors prevalent throughout the entire second third.
Ash is beautiful, stacking dimes with a razor burn.
Jalapeno spice though towards the transition to the final third is picking up!
Final third begins with the espresso and cream swirling around one another. Honey enters the finish with the spice. It’s a lovely symphony of flavors.
Into the final 50% of the last third and the chili spice is banging on the door something fierce! A very exciting finish to an elegant and lovely cigar.
This will age beautifully. Box worthy without a doubt. Find one and pony up the $37, it’s worth it.
Cheers my friends. Thank you for reading.
