Hey guys just wanted to see if anyone else had to put up with the whole fall back thing. It's a little wierd to see all the times on the forum and have to subtract an hour. Is there a way to fix that?

*edited to "save" myself the embarassment of spelling Daylight saving time wrong

Daylight SAVING time!!

No "s" at the end of "Daylight"

They don't do Daylight Saving Time in Arizona (unless you're on one of the Indian reservations). Hawaii may not do it as well. Otherwise pretty much all of the USA does it.

Part of Indiana doesn't do it either.

Having to change the time every 6 mos is a real pain in the a$$. I'm surprised we haven't done away with it yet...

Had a guy from some watch shop in the Forum Shops on the news last week. Said it took them 4 days to reset all of their watches. Sucks to be them!

actually, ALL of indiana doesn't do it.

especialy stinkin purdue, which really messed things up.
grrr, and i'm gonna be back there next semester.

i wish it would stay daylight saving time. i get to work in the dark, and leave work in the dark, now. it's a little depressing.

Hey the good news news is in 2007 we get to add 2 weeks to each end of daylight saving time. So now, it will stay light till 8pm in the middle of November. Dumbest thing I've ever heard. It's supposedly going to "save energy"..thanks Dubyah! Great call!

Sounds like a good idea to me. I'm on the front end of my time zone and your on the rear end of yours. I think you're going to need to turn your headlights on way before 8:00 p.m. in the evening in November of 2007 ;)

Oh and it does "save energy." Before you were born, they did the same thing in the early 1970's (started Daylight Saving Time earlier in the spring) and studies showed that it did indeed save on energy costs.

we call this "sarcasm", CC.

Yeah but now doesn't cooling the house for one extra hour of daylight cost more than the savings in illumination?

I never quite got exactly HOW DST saves money.

I, for one, am with Rod. More PITA than it's worth. I wish the politiciants would just pick a time system that is in effect 365 days a year and not mess with it.

The governor got his way and they passed the law to make Indiana observe DST. Not all of Indiana ignored it. A handful of counties (around Gary, Evansville, and Jeffersonville) did. Now that they passed the law to make all of Indiana observe DST, I guess the hangup is which timezone do they want to be in, CST or EST; which boils down to which market does Indianapolis most associate itself with, Chicago or New York.

Oh, and BTW, GO BOILERS!

For me it's having all he ball games start later.
All the NFL games switch to 8AM from 7AM

Oi!!!
When did this happen??
I'd say Chicago by the way, cause like a LOT of purdue students were from chicago. Also, isn't ohio CST?
