Just got back from an excruciatingly dull training course in Washington DC and boy, am I glad to be home! This wasn't my first trip to the capitol but still, flat land, tall buildings, constant noise, and a sea of freakin' humanity just isn't this Alaska boy's cup of tea. But I'll tell ya, it was still a great trip thanks to TheHatGuy, Cabaiguan Juan, Shelley's Back Room, and W. Curtis Draper Tobacconists.

I found some wanted sticks at Draper's and I paid Shelley's a visit every single evening of my week there, where I herfed with TheHatGuy and Cabaiguan Juan. Both are nice, generous guys who need to drag their asses up to Alaska so I can repay the favors.

I had a great time, Brett. Did you get a chance to stop by the Corcoran museum? If i get up north, can I hunt a moose?

I was planning on going to the Corcoran but I overdid an afternoon nap. My sleep was a bit messed up and I guess I needed to catch up.

Yep, you can hunt moose up here and unlike several other big game species, you don't have to go with a licensed guide to do it. Info here.
