I love this show. It's not very often that a show this original comes out. Michael C. Hall was great in Six feet under, that being the only other show I've seen him in. He's a great character, normal (kinda) on the outside, but the narrating voice tells us the truth. The flashbacks to his childhood are interesting, showing the audience how he became what he is, and how he could have ended up so much worse. Of course there are many other interesting characters. Great show! If you aren't scared of some gore and occasional F-words, I suggest you give this one a try.

For those who haven't heard of this show, here's a summary from TV.com:

Based on Jeff Lindsay's novel "Darkly Dreaming Dexter," this new crime thriller tells the story of a strange man named Dexter Morgan. Once an abused and abandoned child, Dexter is now a successful forensics pathologist...but lurking just beneath his charismatic personality is a terrible truth. Dexter has corralled his innate homicidal urges into a closely guarded second career: He hunts down and brutally murders those vicious criminals who have managed to avoid the clutches of the law.

I watched a couple episodes during a Free Showtime weekend a few weeks ago. It was very good, an original spin on a popular theme.

Its not good enough for me to order showtime, but I'd watch it regularly if it were on cable.

I think this is easily the best new show of the season. It is conceptually very interesting and written/acted extremely well.

I have 5 or 6 episodes DVR'd , but haven't had time to watch them. Looks awesome though, and I can't wait to catch up.

I'm with Shooter - never heard of it. I already have shit backing up on Tivo. Maybe I'll buy the first season when it hits the stores.
