Diesel Fuerte by Rocky Patel

Leebo hit it on the nose. Picked up two and dont plan on anymore. The only RP I like is the vintage 92 but ive heard the sungrown is decent.

Just to clarify, I used to get these on CigarBidFromHell way back when for next to nothing. They make excellent yard gars, back-scratchers, etc.

I can't remember what the blends were but i recall a fair amount of Ligero in these....could be wrong. they were also a bit toothy, so if you're a chewer, they're okay to knaw on in the back yard while trimming the hedges or something....

Talley-ho!

I had the sungrown. Wasn't too impressed. It started off extremely spicy at the beginning, and then halfway through all of the flavor disappeared.

I wasn't impressed with the sungrown either. Pretty uninspiring smoke to say the least. I prefer the Vintage '92s - more complex flavor, nice finish, and good build.

Hey guys - thanks for the info...I will plan on steering clear of the Diesels.

I have also had the sungrown and agree that it isn't much to write home about...

thanks again
Patrick

Well, it probably just means I lack sophistication, but I enjoy these cigars. They are very straightforward, somewhat strong cigars. But, I agree that these are only appropriate for backyard smokes, and here's why:

1) I bought a box of these, and while I freely admit I'm a too-fast smoker, these seemed to tunnel and warp a lot more often than most cigars. I wouldn't want to be hanging out with friends with a glowing twist of half-smoked tabacco drooping from my hand.

2) The bands are ugly.

I picked mine up at CI for <$2 a cigar during one of their specials. To me, that's a good deal, and I enjoyed them with coffee in the morning.

Billboard has 5 packs of both 92's and 90's on sale. The 90's are $25 and the 92's are $24 in robusto size. Is there much difference (besides $1)between the two?

I haven't tried the 92's, but I enjoyed the 90 that I received from one of the good BOTLs here playing poker. I didn't take notes, but I recall it being very nice and I made a mental note to find a few more. Sorry I couldn't be more specific...

The Diesel by Rocky Patel, is STRONG. Thats why the name DIESEL. But I do not believe he makes them any longer.

I've had an RP Sungrown...smoked my first one all the way through, and hated it.

Had a second RP sungrown, thought I'd give it a second try...yup. Tossed that sucker halfway through.

I am a fan of the 1990, flavorful smoke.
