Distiled water in

Depends on the quality of your seal. With a perfect seal, your humidor will try for 100% RH. How often you open the lid will determine how close it gets. This is a new humi right? Are you just trying to season it? If so, a bowl, glass, tupperware of distilled water works pretty well, just make sure everone that might open the box or move the box knows it's there. Once you get it up in the sixties, get the water out and just rely on your oasis or beads.

I'm wondering why you would do this. At worst, I would use florist's foam with solution from any tobacco shop. That would cost you maybe 5 bucks. At best, get a humidipuck from Cigaromony.com. Also investigate buying the beads from Viper. Like Matt said, dumping water in will cause humidity to approach 100 percent. That is just as bad as leaving them out on the counter.

:0 There would be too many uncontrollable veriables involved with that for me.
Will it spill, you do not want it on the inside walls and you especially don't want condensation. All of which could be very bad. I agree null at worst get to a florest and pick up some foam. For the sake of the smokes and your humi. :)
