This post is more of a journal for my own benefit. Maybe I'm hoping for something cathartic but it's mostly that I just need to get it out.

Last week my wife had a mass removed from behind her ear. Apparently she's had a pea sized lump for about six months but wasn't really concerned. Two months ago this thing began to grow and and in no time it was as big as my thumb. CAT scans and MRI's couldn't identify it so the doctors decided to take it out. Well, it was up against the facial nerve so things were a little tricky. It took two surgeons to remove it. In order to get to it they had to sever most of her ear and then reattach it afterwards. Neither of us expected that so we were a little shocked to see the incision. After the surgery, they said they couldn't tell what it was so they'd call us after they got the pathology report back the next day. Guess what, no call. We called to find out what the report said and were told she'd have to come in. Not a very encouraging response.

Well, it wasn't good but it could have been much worse. Today they told her that the mass was cancerous but they feel confident that they got it all. The bad news is that this form of cancer has a tendency to recur so she has to see the doctor once a month for the next two years.

Poor thing has had a rough go of it and is passed out up in the lounge right now. I don't want to wake her but it's time to close up shop and head home. Maybe I'll just let her have the place to herself for the next hour.

Please keep her in your prayers.

And here I go walking downstairs ready to chew him out for keeping shop open too late and look what I find   Do I have an awesome sweetie or what? Well last week (two days after my surgery - OH I'm soooo tough! ) Brickhouse and Tasman got to check out my stitches and staples ( I LOVE walking around saying to people I know "Have you seen my scars yet?" For some reason Mike says I'm not girly enough...) and they didn't really say (to my face anyway ;) ) that I had that Bride of Frankenstein thing going on so I guess I'm fit for public eyes after all. Well, thanks in advance for all your prayers and to the guys from the 589th - you guys are truly my heroes. Come back and see us again soon!

Man that is tough but it will work out. Best wishes and prayers to you both.

We will put in that 1 800 call to G-d. We have your back covered in the prayer department. Things will work out.

Hey Mike.

You always appear to have a glass half full and that's how it will stay.

Give your wife a hug from us.

Brian
