Does shape impact flavor within a brand?

Currently puffing on a Partagas S Series Exqusito in the garage and typing up my notes and thoughts as I smoke in notepad. Been awhile since I'd had a Partagas. Its not what I remebered. On the light up I was getting everything I wanted, good notes of cedar and the almost floral sweetness mixed with the classic Cameroon spice. Once I got to the main body of the cigar it seems almost flavorless, dry like (been resting in my humi awhile so I know its not dry), and just kind of bland. The aromas prelight and smoking are pretty much what I was hoping for/remembering however!

I know thinner vs. thicker ring guages will give different flavor profiles, but how much does shape impact flavor?

Maybe its time for me to try the Black Label?
