DPG Blue band redesign?

I was at a tobacco shop while up visiting family recently and I noticed that the DPG Blues had a different band than I'm accustomed to seeing. Rather than the normal printed font (as seen HERE) that is all that I've seen in my brief cigar experience, it had a more flowing, cursive sort of font on the labels.

I assume that the shop in Champaign, Illinois didn't receive the latest merchandise before the shops here in Miami, so I suspect it's fair to assume that the cursive script is an older design. How much older must those have been?

From what I've read and seen the ones in cursive are the new sizes.

This is the new Fundadores size next to the regular band. Not sure if they plan to totally replace the bands eventually or what.

Well I'll be.

I was starting to kick myself for not buying a few to see what a little age does for them since I haven't been wowed by any of the "non-cursive" Blues I've had.

Thanks!

From what I have heard, Pepin has never had a full time label designer/printer so they have gone through many different band variations. However, I believe they recently reached a deal for a full time band printer so there should be some consistency coming soon. I'm not sure which one's relate to which time period, but that's what I know.

Pretty sure the script one on the left is the new re-design. It sounded like they will eventually all have that band. I like it!

The band on the left is the same as the band on the new Preferidos as well. I agree that it is much nicer looking than the older band style(s), although realistically it's just a band, so who cares as long as the cigar smokes well! :D

there was a post on here not too long ago about Pepin's new blends linky
in that post was how Pepin is now going to use the old cuban style art for his labels so the regular lines will get that cursive print.
just look at his My Father line (i think thats the name of the line)

edit:corrected name of line & added link
