Dream Cars

Anyone have a '74 Corvette Stingray 454 they'd trade me for some cigars?

Why the '74? The '71 had the same body style plus the option of up to the LS-6 engine (450 hp). I had a '71 LS-6 Factory Race Car with the L88 Aluminum heads, no heater, no radio, no insulation, factory 850 Holly, side pipes and a voracious appetite for gas. Used to race SCCA with it and that was a true monster on or off the track. Should have kept it as the car is worth about $120K now. ???

Mainly b/c that's my birth year ;) and I like old Vettes. What did you do w/ the car? Sell it for $2000? :p

Bought it for $8K in '76, sold it for $11K in '77 because Uncle was sending me overseas for 3 years.

Nothing like driving the hell out of a car for a year and making a 3k profit :thumbs:
 
Here's a picture of the same car I bought in 1970 for $1200.00. Sold it 3 years later with a broken rear spring for $600.00. Yeh, I know . :(

I put some cash into it. ZL-1 flairs, Imron Blue Metalflake paintjob, tranny rebuild (the famous "Rockcrusher")and new rear gears. We both got our money's worth. :)
