Dumb Democrat Junk Mail

Tobacco doesn't kill people like Alcohol does... let's tax that... ;)

Or how about toys? Since they are purchased mainly for children, that's where the taxes should come from, IMHO. I mean look at the prices on some of that things.

I had the chance to spend some time talking with Eric and Bobby Newman along with Jeff Borysiewicz from Corona Cigars this weekend. Jeff has taken on defeating this bill has a personal issue. He's made several trips to DC and met with members of both parties. He said Rocky Patel has been there and they have worked side-by-side on this issue.

I won't recount all that he said here, but it was a fascinating story of U.S. politics and the political process. Not unlike big business where people who make the decisions really understand little of what they are deciding. Jeff related how they were surprised to learn that cigar companies are mostly family-run business, how they employ many people from poor and developing countries, how many cigar customers are very price sensitive....we don't all sit around on our luxury yachts lighting OpusX cigars with $50 bills...

If you ever run into either Jeff or Rocky, be sure and say thanks!

I also just used the Democrap website to send the message in support of the VETO!!!
Hopefully they don't have a filter that filters out supportive letters of the veto. Wouldn't suprise me though...
Smoke 'em if you got 'em!
;)

This goes to the point I was trying to make HERE.

I don't think I communicated it well in that thread, but there seems to be a "stigma," if you will, attached to cigar smokers as being fat cat millionaires with little or no concern for those "beneath" them. I think this hurts the average cigar smoker. The promotion of cigars as exclusive to the "lifestyles of the rich and famous" crowd, such that Cigar Aficionado presents, does much more harm than good.

I'm not saying that cigars are not a luxury, but they're certainly not the luxury they're made out to be.

My state is a lost cause. We might as well be a Scandinavian colony...
